On arrival in Chiang Rai in the Golden Triangle area of Thailand, transfer to your hotel. Meet your group of like-minded travelers and tour leader for welcome drinks and a briefing.
Travel to the border the next morning and take a slow boat down the tranquil Mekong. Float past traditional villages and rural scenery. Stay the night in the former trading post of Pakbeng, on the edge of the rugged upper Mekong.

Trek on the back of an elephant, then cruise onwards to the Pak Ou Caves and its eerie Buddha statues. Glide in to beautiful Luang Prabang, a treasure-chest of architecture and culture, and your base for three nights. Explore highlight sites on foot, including the exquisite Royal Palace and the graceful Wat Mai and Xieng Thong temples.
Take part in a leisurely game of petanque, and indulge in sunset mocktails in riverside temple grounds. Savor a delicious local noodle breakfast with a brew of French coffee, be calmed by the serene sight of monks collecting alms at dawn, and spend an evening at a fun cooking class in a beautiful rural setting. Prepare your own traditional food for a picnic at the scenic Kuang Si Falls, and have ample free time to explore Luang Prabang’s alleyways, alluring architecture, boutiques and cafes.

Fly to Vientiane, the rapidly developing capital. Visit the grand Patuxai monument for panoramic city views, and the COPE Center – to learn about the tragic after-effects of Indochina’s ‘Secret War’. Sample a famous Lao coffee in a local café, explore gilded That Luang and antique Wat Sisaket temples, and have free time for personal discoveries.
In the evening, be blessed at a Baci ceremony and be treated to a traditional music performance over a delicious ‘jaew’ dinner in a local house. On your last morning in Laos, enjoy free time before your departure transfer.

Fly to Bangkok and transfer to your hotel. This evening, enjoy a welcome drink with your tour leader and your fellow travelers. Fly to Surat Thani and upon arrival transfer to your resort, stopping at some local markets along the way. In Khanom, a cruise on a local long tail boat that takes you to see the rare pink dolphins. Visit a natural fish spa before returning to the resort for a free afternoon.

Journey by boat to Koh Klang, a small fishing island on the Andaman Sea, covered by thousands of acres of mangrove forest. Participate in local activities such as batik making, visiting fish farms, rice cultivation, or taking a trip in the mangroves in a long tail boat.
At dinner, take a hands-on cooking class. Travel to Khao Sok National Park. Take a canoe ride down the Sok River then interact with elephants, before retreating to your tented camp.

Embark on a morning jungle trek before traveling to Phuket. Enjoy a free day at this seaside playground, perhaps diving or island hopping. The next day, have a morning at your leisure then transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
